Donations Welcome

The Bikers Against Hunger Food Drive is for the Mat-Su Valley, and it begins January 1st and goes to the end of February. This is a food drive that has been going on for the last eight years now - set up to raise food for food banks in the Mat-Su Valley.

Originally started by a bunch of caring bikers, this food drive has grown exponentially with volunteers, from government officials to recovering drug and alcohol addicts and everyone in between.

Thank you to the business owners that give their time and services to help in the special events to the drive, and to those in the media that put this drive out there for people to read and or see on TV, so they know where and how to donate.

It is a combination of all this that keeps it going every year. All with the one purpose to help others throughout the Valley that need a hand up in life. And this shows that there is hope in our community, with so many of us that are willing to do something to better ourselves and our neighbors out of pure kindness.

There are multiple drop-sites drive, pick-ups food and/or donation jars for the food drive:
•    At all four Three Bears Alaska grocery stores within the Valley
•    Denali Harley Davidson
•    House of Yamaha
•    Team CC,
•    Hartley Motors
•    Performance Yamaha
•    Fisher’s Fuel Inc.
•    Arctic Inc. Tattoo Parlor
•    Subway
•    Spenard Builders Supply in Wasilla and Palmer
•     Q99.7 KMBQ Valley Radio

There are more companies that donate to the drive as well, with items of food/or supplies for the annual special events. So another thank you to Carrs, Fred Meyers, Walmart, Kaladi Brothers, Tub House, Clean Slate Tattoo, Matsu Water, Extreme Fun Centers of Wasilla and Christian Motorcyclists Associations - Midnight Son Riders Chapter 801.

This year’s annual special events are as follows:
•    Spaghetti Feed at the Alano Club, 801-901 E Snohomish Drive in Wasilla, on Sunday, February 25th from 2pm ‘til done - usually 5ish. Entry fee is 10 cans of food or $10. Children (12 and under) are free.
•    Tires for Tacos at Denali Harley Davidson, 1497 Hyer Road in Wasilla, on Saturday, February 17th from 12pm to 4pm. Entry fee is also 10 cans of food or $10.

Both events raise so much every year, and are the big reason this drive works. There will be door prizes at each event too. So come down to one or both, and have some great food, good times and great company while showing support for your community.

Thank you again and God bless

Sincerely,
Glen Butts, aka The Dude
