Nerd Con 24, is an electrifying fundraising event, set to sweep the Mat-Su Valley off its feet, all for a noble cause- The Palmer High School Dungeons and Dragons Club. This gathering celebrates the unapologetic embrace of nerd culture while supporting a community of imaginative minds.
Envisioned as a haven for enthusiasts of all things nerdy, Nerd Con 24 promises a day with fantastical adventures and camaraderie. From Cosplay competitions to tabletop gaming tournaments, attendees immerse themselves in a realm where creativity knows no bounds. Stop by Community Outreach Tables staffed by local clubs, focused on their niche within the nerd kingdom. Join in a one-shot campaign created by award winning Game Masters. Never played a tabletop game? No worries, we have Game Masters on hand to show you the ropes.
Held the first weekend in April each year, this year we open our doors to the public at noon on April 6th. Look for door buster door prizes at 1pm and a Cosplay costume contest at 3pm.
At its core, Nerd Con 24 is a beacon of support for the Palmer High School D&D Club. With tabletop gaming gaining mainstream recognition, the club provides students with a platform to hone their storytelling skills, foster teamwork, and embrace their inner nerd with pride. Proceeds from the event go directly to the club, ensuring access to resources and opportunities for its members. This year, the primary fundraising goal for the PHS D&D Club, is to provide a trip for members into Anchorage for the Arctic Comic Con.
Beyond fundraising, Nerd Con 24 serves as a testament to the power of community and the magic of imagination. It celebrates diversity, inclusion, and the shared passion that unites people from all walks of life. So, whether you are a seasoned adventurer or a curious novice, Nerd Con 24 welcomes you to join the quest and make a difference in the lives of young gamers and nerds in the Mat-Su Valley.
The PHS D&D Club welcomes high school aged members from throughout the Mat-Su Valley. We have current members who are enrolled in rival high schools as well as home school programs. The PHS D&D Club meets on Fridays during the school year from 2:30pm – 5pm.
