Talkeetna Winter Festival

Talkeetna Winter Festival

Contributed by Lauren Kane, Member of Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce is hosting our annual Winter Festival the first weekend of December 2024! Events all day Saturday include the Mountain Mama contest in the local park on Main Street, a bonfire, a hot chocolate stand with special Talkeetna cups for sale, smooshing races, dog pull races, music, and more!

We will also have our Bachelor Auction Saturday night at the Sheldon Hanger, with music, and a Bachelor’s Ball afterward. It’s sure to be a fun time for all, so come enjoy the events in Talkeetna on December 7th and 8th. Several gift shops and restaurants will be open during the festival. The Mercantile, located at the Y, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring local handmade gifts daily. The Mercantile is upstairs above Matanuska Credit Union at Moore’s Hardware location.

Come shop for the holidays! Frontier Gifts will also be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., located on Talkeetna Spur Road, across from Mayhay’s. They offer many Alaskan gifts, as well as a variety of fur pelts, hats, ponchos, headbands, and gloves. The Quilt Shop will also be open.

We welcome you to our quaint, friendly town of Talkeetna.
