PRESS RELEASE
Alaska Fighting Championship (AFC) has struck a deal with UFC Fight Pass® to live stream future AFC fight cards on the UFC® digital streaming platform. The first live card to be broadcast to customers in over 200 countries exclusively on UFC Fight Pass will be AFC 125 on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
In addition to live streaming, UFC Fight Pass has also acquired the rights to the entire AFC fight library. This includes over 130 events that featured athletes like UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, Rich Franklin and Jeremy Horn. AFC was recently featured on episode two of the popular series, Dana White: Lookin' for a Fight.
“This has been the craziest thing to happen to AFC in over 12 years of events,” AFC President Sarah Lorimer said. “We are so excited to make this deal with UFC Fight Pass. This will give people the ability to access our events from all over the world. This deal will allow our fighters to showcase their talent to millions of people.”
Alaska Fighting Championship is Alaska’s premier mixed martial arts event. Founded back in July 2004, AFC 1 featured an action-packed night with UFC veterans, Jeremy Horn and Rich Franklin. AFC has come a long way in cultivating its own professional fighters, some of which have fought in the UFC. Much like the days of discovering gold in Alaska, the AFC has mined many a gritty competitor from the ranks of hardy, “Last Frontier” Alaskan men and women. The reputation of tough Alaskan men and women and the harsh elements they train in has attracted global attention. Alaska Fighting Championship can be seen live at the George M. Sullivan Sports Arena in Anchorage, AK and is streamed around the world live only on UFC Fight Pass.
