Are you looking for a new best friend; a dog which can be a member of your family and give you the faithful and loving companionship that only a dog can provide?
Meet Foxy, a stunning 8-year-old Alaskan Husky who is currently here at the Iditarod Trail Kennel in Knik, Alaska looking for her forever home! The Iditarod Trail Kennel is not a "racing kennel", but rather, it is a temporary home for dogs in search of their forever homes, operating under the 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization of Alaskan Gardens!
This docile, brown female has ran the wilderness trails of Alaska, having participated in numerous mid-distant races, including the world famous Iditarod sled dog race! She is now retired from the rigors of the trail, and for the past three years has been living the good life indoors! Until a couple of months ago, Foxy had been living with a good family in Anchorage, and then a tragic turn of events befell this awesome dog. The dad of the home passed away, and his wife has met with a serious accident and is currently in Providence Hospital and can no longer provide the care and assistance which Foxy needs.
About a month ago, a loving family was found to take care of Foxy, and all was going well until a few days ago when Foxy became aggressive and dominant over the family's other dog, making it necessary to bring Foxy back here to the Iditarod Trail Kennel where we seek another good home who can consider taking Foxy in, possibly a family who does not have another dog!
Foxy is unspayed, and we encourage the new care providers to get her spayed. She is in excellent health and wears her current rabies tag! She is a tad shy around new folks, but will warm up to you as she gains your trust! She is the ideal candidate to go on walks with, hike Flattop or go jogging with! This dog, Foxy, is one which stands out as an individual in which we want to keep as our own, but we are limited as to just how much we can do, but know that the ideal person awaits for this dog, and perhaps it is you!
We are requesting a $100 re-homing fee, which is fully refundable if Foxy does not work out. The Iditarod Trail Kennel is open by appointment only. Thanks for considering Foxy to being a member of your household!
