I have a political ambition as a republican candidate one day in the future, so this article could be seen as something like a political suicide. It's because what I'm gonna say here won't be popular among my republican friends.
But, I believe America is still a free country, and I am striving very hard to keep the Constitution alive, by exercising the right to free speech that Constitution gives us. So here we go. Let us broaden our minds.
When I was watching then-Judge (now-Justice) Kavanaugh's congressional hearing, I can't say I liked his demeanor. He was like a mini-me version of President Trump: a philanderer, disrespectful, rude, plain-English speaking, handsome, attractive, masculine, and conservative. No wonder Mr. Kavanaugh received feverish support from most Republicans.
But Senator Murkowski did not vote for him and I fully support the Senator's brave, courageous, and independent decision to not go along the "party line."
Nowadays, Americans are too timid. They are afraid to speak freely of their minds. Why? It's because there came this culture of political correctness, and this culture of firing someone, just because s/he said something unpopular. My dear fellow Americans and Alaskans, this needs to change. We cannot let America be a country of fear and suppression. But that seems to be where this country is heading towards, and I want to put a stop on this ill trend. That's why I'm running for President in 2020.
"Oh...you...it's you again...You're that crazy guy running for President, right?"
Ha ha ha ha. Sorry, I just got a new job and I've been busy to catch up, learn the ropes. But now that I’ve caught up with the new profession somewhat, I may write a little bit more often.
Anyhow, back to the main topic. Let us restart with a question: are you a human being, or are you a programmed robot?
"What's all this, Mr. Crazy Presidential Hopeful?"
What I mean is, if you are a human being, and not some republican-programmed piece of machine, how can you possibly agree on every single party platform of that party?
"Get to the point, young man. What? Are you pro-choice? Hmm? Say it."
Well, I'm kinda in the middle, in all honesty.
"WE MUST REPEAL AND REPLACE ROE V. WADE!!!!"
I appreciate your passion and admire your dedication for a political cause. And I also understand my Christian and Republican colleagues feel deeply emotional about this issue of abortion.
"Uh-oh, I hear a big BUT coming!"
Well, the thing is this: You, Mr. and Miss and Mrs., you oppose Roe v. Wade, without even having read it. I have, back in my law school days.
"ROE V. WADE LEGALIZES ABORTION AND IT'S EVIL!!!"
Well, not exactly. That's why I'm saying I have to be the President in 2021. You Americans are so spoiled, so childish. You get wrapped up in emotion so quickly on every issue and that needs to change.
"Oh, that presidential harangue boomerang again. Get a grip. That will never, ever happen. You seem to be a pro-choice. A wolf disguised as a sheep. A secular democrat, a hardcore liberal who pretends to be a conservative Christian Republican. You can't fool me. I smell ya. I can smell your rampant, evil liberalism in ya. You will never get Republican party support. You will never get elected in any political position. Your political career? Dead on arrival, baby. A political miscarriage. Sorry. Ha ha ha ha!"
So, are you saying I should hide in fear, and never speak freely in this country, because what, I wanna be an elected official one day?
"Exactly. You shall obey the party line. Repeat what they say. Every single one of their platform items. You must be a puppet parakeet parrot. You can't have your own opinion. Never. Just do what they say."
Wow. That sounds awful. That doesn't sound American. At all.
"My friend, allow me to proffer an advice. Politics is not about right or wrong. It's all about obedience. You have to give in to people's demand. Good or bad. Why? Cuz that's how democracy is run. You must agree with the majoritarian view. Otherwise, people will never vote for you."
Hmm. What a tragedy. I thought an elected official is supposed to be a leader, not a follower.
"You are wrong."
Perhaps I am. Perhaps America, democracy, have no chance of recovering. Perhaps we may never get back to the good ole’ America where Americans once were so beautiful, free of tattoos, piercings, marijuana, plastic surgery, gay marriage, transgender surgery, obesity, and all those horrendous things that are driving America into self destruction.
"...My friend, listen to me. You should never utter those words in public in this country. Otherwise, they will send you back to Korea. Isn't that where you're from?"
Well, I was born in America, but lived about first half of my life in Seoul. Then I returned to America, to be ideologically free.
Anyway, let's wrap it up. Roe v. wade is a compromise between pro-life and pro-choice.
