How does a non-profit organization that’s been providing recycling in the Mat-Su Borough for 20 years now commemorate this momentous occasion??? With a HUGE celebration, of course, and you’re ALL invited!!!
Please join Valley Community for Recycling Solutions (VCRS) at YOUR community recycling center on Sunday, May 20th, from 2pm-6pm, for an open house as we celebrate our first 20 years in operation and all the people who helped make it possible.
Visit our history stations that tell the fascinating story of VCRS’ birth and growth over the past 20 years, from the very first meeting in December 1997 to discuss the possibility of recycling, to the move into our new facility in 2010 and to where we are today.
Sway to the sound of an amazing line-up of live music in the residential drive-thru, including the Carhartt Brothers, Jerry Wessling Band, Mountain Waxwings and Spin Cycle Quartet with Pioneer Peak as a backdrop!
Savor the flavor of fabulous finger foods under the tent in the upper parking lot, provided by our generous local restaurants, meat purveyors, and volunteers.
Explore your creative side through rock painting with Valley Arts Alliance and other fun activities for kids of all ages.
When an incredible community like the Mat-Su Borough works together for the long-term good of all, we can turn “valley trash” into a borough-wide recycling effort, recovering resources, creating jobs, sustaining economic development, cultivating a deep sense of community, increasing the beauty that surrounds us and appreciating a healthy, sustainable world.
We deeply appreciate everyone who recycles, who’s considering recycling and the many borough residents and partners who have helped our efforts over the past 20 years. Thanks to the faith and efforts of our entire community, our capacity to capture resources before they get to the landfill is now what we imagined it could be, 20 years ago…
Yahoo, Mat-Su! Come celebrate with us!!!
