The 2017 5K Zombie Run had a great turn out thanks to good weather and all of our amazing volunteers, runners and community supporters! This year’s special guests included Mayor Burt Cottle, Brenna Bourassa from Q99.7 and our exchange students from Brazil and South Africa.
For many years the Rotary 5K Run has been around, always with the goal to raise money to assist our local high school students in pursuing further education. So it is no surprise that this year alone, we awarded $13,000 in scholarships to many deserving students.
We would like to congratulate our first female winner of the 5K, Cory Barber, coming in with a time of 20 minutes and 15 seconds, in addition to being the first place winner for the 19-40 category!
All of our runners did a marvelous job and we would like to give special recognition to our first place winners in each category.
