Suds Science at Arkose Brewery in Palmer

As the first brewery to ever open in Palmer, Alaska, Arkose has been educating the public’s taste buds since 2011. In the Suds Science lecture series, Co-founder and head brewer, Stephen Gerteisen provides a comprehensive lecture on each topic. It is a rare opportunity to experience this kind of knowledge-sharing from someone so embedded in the brewing industry.

Module 2: Brewing Processes Series, Feb 10, 17 & 24 at 5 p.m.
The Brewing Processes module is a three-part series where Stephen will explain how the main ingredients of beer fit into the critical manufacturing processes that ultimately result in the suds in your glass.

The three lectures will cover:
1)    Milling & Mashing
2)    Boiling & Hops
3)    Yeast & Fermentation

Total price for all three lectures is $100 and includes beer to sip and savor as you soak up the knowledge. It is recommended that you have some knowledge of the four basic ingredients of beer, but it is not required. All are encouraged to attend.

It is easy to register online at Eventbrite.com (search for Arkose Suds Science) or call the brewery at 746-BEER (2337). You can also stop by the taproom at 650 E. Steel Loop in Palmer.

Keep an eye out for future announcements about Module 1 again which covers the four basic ingredients, their form and function and their history and use over time.  Module 1 was held last summer and some of the past attendee’s comments include: “Great lecture series!” “You really know your stuff” “Very informative – learned much!”
