Puttin' on the Glitz: Masquerade

United Way of Mat-Su is to host their second annual fundraising gala – Puttin’ on the Glitz – on February 4th. This masquerade ball will feature live music by the Jerry Wessling Band, a “Taste of Mat-Su” dessert bar, silent auction and more. Puttin’ on the Glitz will be hosted at the Best Western at Lake Lucille from 7-11 p.m.
“Last year’s event was so fun that we just couldn’t help but do it again; it gives people an excuse to get dressed up and go out for a special occasion,” said Development Director, Chelsea Fields. Tickets for the event are $50 per person and $350 for a table of 8. Businesses can also sponsor a table and will have their logo and business name posted as an event sponsor. All proceeds go to support United Way of Mat-Su and their mission of impacting education, financial stability and health.
United Way works to reach their goals through internal programming, as well as providing funding and in-kind support to other local non-profits. Events like Mat-Su Project Homeless Connect (a one-day, one-stop-shop of local services for those in need) and Day of Action: Stuff the Bus (a day of filling backpacks with school supplies for Mat-Su students) are just two of the many ways that United Way is impacting the community.
This year, United Way of Mat-Su celebrates 30 years of impacting the Mat-Su community and invites community members, business owners, service providers and anyone interested in giving back to consider joining them at Puttin’ on the Glitz.
