Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year. This is the information provided by Google.
This day can often slide by with little, if any, fanfare unless you have a child in school where a lesson and possibly an art project may have taken place. As consumers, some of us are more committed than others to purchasing items in earth-friendly packaging, or we recycle. I would like to believe that most of us make some effort to take care of our earth, while others make great efforts.
As an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, I would like to share some of our company’s commitment to the social responsibility of being a good steward of our planet. We call it, Pink Doing Green®. The beauty business is about more than cosmetics and skin care. Knowing today that our actions impact future generations, Mary Kay is always looking for ways to be more sustainable and green. The Caps and Cases Program and Nature Explore® Classrooms initiative are just two examples of the efforts we make.
When you choose to do business with a local independent beauty consultant, you are supporting a local small business in your community, as well as being earth-friendly. You will work with a consultant who will recommend skin care products to meet your skins needs, offer a 100% product guarantee, deliver your orders and utilize the Caps and Cases Recycling Program on your behalf. Your purchasing power is stronger and can be greener than you may have thought.
