The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce Announces Auction Theme

Press Release

The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the theme of its fourth annual Palmer on Parade Art Auction: “Wandering Waters”.

In Palmer and the Mat-Su Valley, waterways are an important part of our culture, recreation and everyday living. They provide sustenance, transportation routes and some of the most majestic scenery in the world. The Chamber is excited to recognize the importance of our waterways and is once again anticipating quite a few creative interpretations from participating local artists. Prior year’s themes have used local icons such as the Palmer water tower and Pioneer Peak, as well as celebrating the region’s colonization.

“Palmer on Parade is an excellent way for the valley’s local artists to showcase their talents and we’re honored to offer an opportunity to share their hard work,” said Cassi Campbell, GPCC President. Campbell added, “This event is always a favorite one in our community and we look forward to highlighting our local businesses, artists and talents.”

A limited number of artist stipends are available. Artists are urged to register early. Each piece of artwork will be displayed in a different local business from September 7 – October 10, and will be included in the Palmer Visitor and Information Center Second Saturday Art Walk on September 10, 2016.

This year’s auction and dinner will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Palmer Senior Center. Doors open and silent auction begins at 6:00 pm and the program will begin at 7:00 pm.
