Adopt Duke

I am a 5-year-old retired tom cat who is ready to start a new chapter of my life with a family of my own. I spent most of my life outside as the neighborhood tom cat by the north Anchorage Costco. Caring neighbors were letting me come inside to warm up and eat as I pleased. One day I showed up to one of these houses with a terrible injury and Clear Creek Cat Rescue became involved. I was taken to the vet immediately, had surgery, and am recovering.
Despite my rough past, I am doing great learning how to become a family cat again. I love to play, and my favorite toys are a squeaky mouse and a catnip fish. If you want to play with me, that could be fun. But I don't require entertainment. I'm great at doing my own thing, but will come running when called. I have a special weakness for wet food; give me some and I will be your best friend. I enjoy having other cats around, but I'm not a fan of dogs. I'm very kind towards the toddler in my foster home and loving to the adults.
Since I lived most of my life outside, I still want to be able to go out in nice weather and enjoy the lovely natural world. Most of all, I need a family who can be patient with me while I'm still learning new routines and trusting that you will love me forever.
