The Alaska State Fair Says Goodbye to Beloved Jerome Hertel

ALL ALASKANS - Jerome Hertel has served as the CEO of the Alaska State Fair has now been named CEO of the Clay County Fair in Spencer Iowa. Hertel will begin his duties in April.
Alaska State Fair Board President, Kristy Bernier, informed the Board this week that the change was coming. The Board will be planning a course of action to fill the position as soon as possible and expects a successful 2023 Fair. “The entertainment is booked, the vendors are secured and the Fair has a staff with over 170 years of combined experience. We’ll be ready when the doors open.” explained Bernier.
Hertel successfully navigated the Fair through the Covid 19 pandemic and left the Fair in the best financial position of its history. He will help the Board with the transition process in every way possible.
