Standing in Solidarity

Dear Friends,
The Mat-Su Democrats will not stay silent in the face of injustice. In this moment of uncertainty and fear, we must stand together, firmly and unequivocally, with our transgender and immigrant neighbors, friends, and loved ones. The recent policies introduced by the new Trump administration are direct assaults on the dignity, rights, and safety of our community members. These actions aim to marginalize people based on who they are or where they come from.
Our community thrives when we protect and uplift one another. Today, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to building a community where every person—regardless of gender identity, nationality, or immigration status—can live with safety, respect, and dignity. We reject hate and discrimination in all its forms and pledge to create a space where everyone belongs.
We must also act. Advocacy begins with each of us. We must speak out against harmful policies. We must continue to support organizations that provide direct aid to impacted individuals. We must unwaveringly offer compassion to those in need.
For those of you directly affected by these policies, know that you are not alone. We see you; we value you, and we will fight beside you to protect your rights and your humanity.
Now is the time for collective action and solidarity. Together, let’s send a clear message. Our community stands for love, justice, and the unshakable belief that everyone deserves the chance to live authentically and free from fear.
