Canceled Ideals Cancel Hope

Contributed by Katherine Baker

January or December?
(time is lost and not remembered)
There was no sound, nothing did stir,
There was no wind or ruffled fur.

Silently, icy snow emerged,
life on earth had deeply submerged.
Struggling forward, insight appeared,
a wolf who knew not death was near.

Tracks behind him quickly vanished,
no path ahead, stopped in anguish.
What was before did not remain,
changed world, oppressed by dark domains.

In the stillness, a look around,
it had to end, that silent sound.
A throaty howl into the air,
expressed our natures' grim despair.

He heard no others, all were gone,
knew not how to continue on.
Weakened in his survival state,
lone wolf collapsed, embracing fate.

Distinct, night howls, unmoved the earth,
truth, when unrealized, little worth.
Canceled lives - slain by exclusion,
Marxist Gameplay - mass delusion.
